world's slimmest waterproof 3G mobile phone

Fujitsu, the Japanese electronics manufacturer, recently presented the new F705i handset, which comes as the "world's slimmest waterproof 3G mobile phone". Or at least that's what the company says, and we have to believe it since we don't have any proof against the affirmation (i. e. another slimmer 3G waterproof phone).

Fujitsu F705i comes in a clamshell form and measures only 13.7 millimeters in thickness – not much even if we talk about an ordinary mobile phone. Its full dimensions are 106 x 49 x 13.7 mm at a weight of 111 grams. While the phone's design is not great, as you can see in the pictures (a more rounded shape would have looked better if you ask me), the 3G and waterproof capabilities will make the handset an attractive one.

Fujitsu F705i meets both IPX5 and IPX7 waterproof standards and will not suffer any damage if you forget it in the rain, drop it in the champagne glass or even if you keep it 1 meter underwater for 30 minutes. Pretty cool, isn't it?

Beside the 3G connectivity, the phone packs a 1.3 Megapixel camera and a front VGA one for video calls. Super Clear Voice and Super Clear Mike technologies are included, to automatically adjust the volume when you make or receive calls in a noisy environment. Furthermore, the phone offers the Quick Zoom function (increases or decreases the size of the text shown on screen) and can provide up to 170 minutes of talk time and 100 minutes of video calling.

Fujitsu F705i comes in three colors (white, black and a sort of beige) for a price that hasn't been disclosed yet.
